COVID-19 Return to Play Guidelines
As we learn more about the COVID-19 virus everyday, we understand the devastating, although rare, effects this virus could potentially have on the heart, the circulatory system and the respiratory system of our youth. In agreement with the American Academy of Pediatrics the Westhill Central School District requires all student athletes that have had a positive COVID-19 diagnosis be cleared by an approved healthcare provider prior to participating in interscholastic athletics.
Please see the Return to Play Following COVID Infection form located in the link below. This form is required for all students that test positive for COVID-19 and want to participate in interscholastic athletics after their isolation period is completed.
Although the isolation period has now changed from 10 days to 5 days athletes will not be permitted to return to athletics for 10 days after their symptoms began or from the date of their positive test if asymptomatic. Athletes will not be permitted to attend practice/games until their 10 days have been completed.
The completed form must be returned to our Athletic Trainer, Tracey Collett or the school nurse prior to the start of participation in the interscholastic sport.
Do not hesitate to call the health office or our Athletic Trainer with any questions and/or concerns.
