High School DECA Shines at Regional Competition

DECA (formerly Distributive Education Clubs of America) is a national club that helps prepare high school students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Each student picked an area of focus and prepared for a 100 question written test given which took place earlier in December.  Additionally, there is a role-play component where students are given a case study in their specific event to solve a problem and be judged by a professional in their industry.

This year, 70 Westhill students competed at Le Moyne College for the regional competition. We had 12 students receive first or second place honors which qualifies them for the state competition. In total, four students qualify in the individual competition and eight qualify from our team events.

Best of luck to our students moving onto the DECA state competition.
