First Responder Day at WPS

On October 7th, 2025, Walberta Park held the 2nd annual First Responder Day. The students and staff were able to meet and talk with First Responders from the Geddes Police Department, Solvay Fire Department, Camillus Police Department, New York State Police, Syracuse Police Department, New York State Park Police, Onondaga County Emergency Management and AMR Ambulance. In addition, students were able to check out some of the incredible equipment that our First Responders use such as police cars, fire trucks, an ambulance, and a SWAT vehicle. 

The goal of this annual event is to build relationships between students and First Responders, teach students about the important roles that First Responders play in our community, and reinforce that First Responders are adults that students can rely on and trust in the event of an emergency. It was an outstanding day of learning and fun for everyone involved.
