Westhill Boys' Basketball:
The Westhill Warriors boys’ basketball team won their third consecutive Section 3 championship on March 7, 2025, defeating Jamesville-DeWitt 71-53 at the SRC Arena. Throughout the sectional tournament Westhill dominated play, winning their first-round game against Oneida 91-53, followed by an 85-39 victory over Central Valley Academy in the quarterfinals, and a 68-44 win against South Jefferson in the semifinals.
In the Class A championship game against Jamesville-DeWitt, Westhill won with a final score of 71-53, securing their third consecutive sectional title.
Overall, Westhill finished the season with a 23-3 record, an OHSL League Championship, the Section 3 Class A Championship, and advancing to the Class A State Regional Final.

Buckets for Baldrick's at Westhill:
More than 360 hoops players from across Central New York—many from Westhill—participated in the fourth annual Buckets for St. Baldrick’s 3 v 3 youth basketball tournament at Cherry Road School on Sunday April 6.
The event raised over $88,000 for pediatric cancer research thanks to the fundraising efforts of the players, as well as many generous donations and sponsorships from local businesses, including many with connections to the Westhill School District. In conjunction with the tournament, several staff members shaved their heads at CRS and Walberta on March 28 with the Westhill Shave Team, which contributed almost $12,000 to the fundraising total.

OHMS Science Olympiad:
The Onondaga Hill Middle School Science Olympiad team recently competed at the Regional Tournament at North Syracuse Junior High. Working in pairs, students tackled diverse events like Road Scholar, Anatomy & Physiology, Meteorology, Crime Busters, and Fossils. The team brought home an impressive 19 medals! Adding to their success, Onondaga Hill took 2nd place in the Science Bowl tournament, and Will Tyszka achieved a remarkable 1st place overall.
The team represented themselves and the Westhill school admirably with their teamwork and perseverance. Congratulations on an excellent season!

Westhill Girls' Indoor Track & Field wins 7th Consecutive Section III Championship:
The 2024-25 Westhill Girls Indoor Track and Field team had a tremendous season highlighted by winning the Onondaga High School League Championship and winning their 7th consecutive Section III Championship.
The Girls 4 x 200 relay composed of Allison Langham, Emma Murphy, Ava Baty and Derricka Trotman qualified for the NY State Championship Meet and ended up in 6 th place in NYS in the Division Two 4 x 200 relay.
Among the many outstanding performances this year, were several new school records achieved by:
- Emma Murphy in the 55 High Hurdles
- Derricka Trotman in the High Jump
- Emma Murphy in the Long Jump

2025 Scholastic Art Award Winners:
Ten Westhill High School art & photography students received awards in the 2025 Scholastic Art Awards competition.
In this competition, artwork is evaluated on originality, technical skill and personal vision. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards were launched in 1923 to encourage and recognize student achievement in the creative arts.The Scholastic Awards attract over 350,000 entries in 28 categories of writing and the visual arts.
The artwork will be on display for public viewing in the Whitney Building at OCC from January 14th through February 28th.

UPK Registration 2025-2026:
The Westhill Central School District is pleased to once again offer a 4-year-old UPK program for the 2025-2026 school year.
To be eligible, a child must:
· Have a birthdate between December 2, 2020 and December 1, 2021.
· Reside in the Westhill Central School District.
· Agree to attend the program 6 hours a day for 5 days per week.
Instruction is consistent with the New York State Pre-Kindergarten Standards, which focuses on a child’s social/emotional, cognitive and physical development.

Westhill High School had 72 students compete in the DECA competition at Le Moyne College against 12 other schools in the area the week of December 16th.
DECA competitions are events that test students' business skills, knowledge, and creativity. They are part of the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), a nonprofit organization that prepares students for careers in business and related fields. BOE Recognizes Fall Sports Teams:
At their December 2nd meeting, the Board of Education recognized the Varsity Boys’ Soccer Team and Cross-Country runner, Teddy Popp, for their outstanding accomplishments this fall. The Varsity Boys’ Soccer team were the OHSL Liberty 1 Champions with a 10-1 record (20-2-1 overall), the Class B Section 3 Champions, the Class B NYSPHSAA Regional Champions, and a NYSPHSAA Class B State Finalist.
Cross-country runner, Teddy Popp, was the Class C Section 3 Champion, qualified for States, and placed 38th in the State.

On June 12, 2023, the Westhill Board of Education passed a resolution committing to changing our school nickname by the end of the 2024-2025 school year following a mandate from the State Education Department. After months of collaboration, planning, and community input, the Board of Education adopted a resolution at the Board of Education meeting this evening to change the district’s nickname to the Westhill Wolf Pack , effective July 1, 2025.

Forty-six Westhill High School students/graduates have been named Advanced Placement Scholars by The College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Examinations. Several levels of achievement are recognized based on the number of year-long courses and examinations (or their equivalent semester-long courses and examinations).
Eight students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Examinations taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these examinations. The Westhill High School Chapter of the National Honor Society Spring Induction Ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Forty-six members of the junior class joined the current membership made up of 68 seniors. It was an exciting evening filled with celebration. The Senior Class officers reviewed the National Honor Society Qualities during the candle lighting ceremony.
