John Reynolds Gardiner 2001 - 2002

On October 30th the students were inspired by Mr. Gardiner as he spoke about what it takes to be an author. He recommended that writers think about 3 elements for their stories: Want, Struggle, and Surprise. Everyone has a story inside just waiting to be told from the heart. John Gardiner is the author of: Stone Fox, Top Secret, and General Butterfingers.


Cynthia DeFelice 2000 - 2001


For the 2000 - 2001 school year, Cherry Road was fortunate to have author Cynthia DeFelice as our guest. Children were fascinated to hear her story of how she became interested in books as a child, and what inspired her to want to become an author. DeFelice is the author of many wonderful books, including:Weasel, The Light on Hogback Hill, and Devil's Bridge.
